LISTEN: Abahlali leader gunned down in apparent 'assassination'

A leader from Abahlali basemJondolo has been gunned down in what the shack dwellers' movement is labelling an assassination.
S'fiso Ngcobo, Abahlali's chairperson in eKukhayeni, near Mariannhill, was shot by unknown gunmen last night.
The organisation's S'bu Zikode says three people allegedly arrived at his house at about 7.30pm last night.
Zikode says Ngcobo was then rushed to the Mariannhill Hospital where he died.

"He was outside, unaware of anything. Without any provocation, argument or engagement with the suspects they just opened fire. He was shot about seven times," he said.

Zikode says Ngcobo was then rushed to the Mariannhill Hospital where he died.
He's described Ngcobo as a vibrant, family man.
