That is the view of President Cyril Ramaphosa. The President delivered his second State of the Nation Address in Parliament last night.

"Our policy and and legislative interventions will ensure that more land is made available for agriculture, industrial development and human settlements."

Much of Ramaphosa's speech last night focused on improving the country's economy and how it conducts business in order to attract investment.

Ramaphosa says government will support the work of Parliament to set out provisions to change Section 25 of the Constitution to allow for the expropriation of land without compensation.
Meanwhile, EFF leader, Julius Malema wanted to hear more about expropriation without compensation.

"He said he will support the work of Parliament and that can't be a 'wow' moment, the work of Parliament was going to continue with or without his blessings. The land will be expropriated without compensation, Section 25 is going to be amended through the motion that was put forward by the EFF and we are unapologetic about that," said Malema while addressing reporters outside the National Assembly.

The Freedom Front Plus believes Ramahosa's speech was nothing more than nice words. The party's leader, Pieter Groenewald says he is not convinced by the President's take on expropriation without compensation.

"He wants to build the economy. We can assure him that if he continues with expropriation without compensation, he will not be able to build the economy to ensure that we create jobs."

Public hearings on land reform were held across the country. Ramaphosa commended those who facilitated the process for their work, while also thanking communities for their engagement.
