Ladysmith shooting: Mbalula to meet with police task team

Police Minister, Fikile Mbalula will be meeting with the KZN Taxi Violence Task Team following this week's apparent hit on Ladysmith taxi boss that claimed the lives of ten other people.
Gunmen opened fire on deputy chairperson of the Klipriver taxi association Muzi Ngobese - and his four bodyguards.Their bakkie collided head-on with a minibus that had been transporting teachers
Six of them died.The attack is believed to be linked to a taxi dispute with rival associations over the Ladysmith-Johannesburg route.

Ministerial spokesperson Vuyo Mhaga, says Mbalula is deeply concerned by the ongoing killings in the province.
"The minister is quite worried about what is happening there. He will be meeting with the team that was deployed to understand the nature of the killings and to get a briefing. From there, we'll determine what more can we do to curtail the issue of taxi violence," he says.
A manhunt has since been launched for the suspects involved in the shooting. No arrests have been made.
