10 dead in Ladysmith taxi shooting, crash
At least 10 people have been killed following a shooting and a subsequent accident in Ladysmith.
Police spokesperson Thembeka Mbhele says a chairperson of a local taxi association and his four bodyguards were ambushed on the N11 this morning.
"After they were shot at, the bakkie lost control and collided with an oncoming combi, believed to have been transporting teachers from a local school. In that combie, five people also died because of the accident," she said.

The motive behind the attack is still unknown at this stage.
Mbhele says police and the taxi violence task team are still at the scene conducting their investigations.
