KZN flood relief efforts get R30m cash injection from Motsepe Foundation

Amazulu King Misuzulu ka Zwelithini, KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala and businessman Patrice Motsepe have visited the Tshelimnyama area west of Durban to assess the extent of the flood damage.
Their visit came a day after Ministers of Waters and Sanitation, Human Settlements, Transport & Small Business Development descended on KZN to inspect the devastating impact of the floods.
The Motsepe Foundation pledged a R30 million donation in support of KZN relief efforts.

This while King Misuzulu has expressed sadness over the devastating situation.
"We are deeply touched. We are all shocked, it hurts. As we speak, there is still a search for missing people who have not yet been found.
"When you look at the shockingly high number of deaths, our belief has always been that the rain is a blessing, but it can't be said in this situation, it seems like a curse has been cast upon us."
Premier Zikalala has thanked the Motsepe Foundation for its contribution during such a difficult time, while Motsepe lauded the king for his leadership.

"There has been many of our families in this province have been very badly affected and there has been lots of suffering as a result of the floods and we really want to thank his Majesty our king, king Misuzulu."
