KZN disaster, emergency teams on high alert

Disaster management teams and emergency services are closely monitoring areas affected by yesterday's storm.
Gale force winds descended on parts of the province, where winds of up to 65kmph were recorded. Residents shared images of damages to their cars and homes - with roofs caving in, and trees uprooted on their properties.
Areas affected included the greater Durban area, Pietermaritzburg and surrounds west of the city and areas on the Hibiscus coast.

SA Weather Service has issued a warning for heavy rain that could lead to localised flooding along the coast and the interior.
One death in Empangeni on the north coast has been reported. Motorists are being urged to exercise caution and if possible, to delay travel.
