KZN depts to set aside R10m each to tackle crime

Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube says an across-the-board commitment to intensify the fight against crime has been reached by provincial departments.
She says each will prioritise R10 million.

Dube-Ncube tabled her R872 million budget in the Legislature on Tuesday.
She said one area of focus is cross-border crime.
"We are mounting an intensive offensive to take the war to cross-border criminals. "

"The provincial government and Cabinet as a whole had directed the Department of Transport and Community Safety to resume the construction of the concrete wall that will curb the theft of motor vehicles and the movement of illicit goods across our border with Mozambique."
