Kessie Nair's bail application succeeds
Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
60-year-old Durban man, Kessie Nair will begin the new year out on bail.
The Hawks arrested Nair in September and charged him with crimen injuria as well as contravening the Riotous Assemblies Act - for calling President Cyril Ramaphosa the K-word in a Facebook video.
A Verulam Magistrate initially refused Nair bail but he appealed her ruling in the Durban High Court, where it was last week set aside.

Nair's lawyer, Chris Gounden says his client's expected to post bail today.
"I confirm that he has been granted bail - an amount of R2500 at the Durban High Court on December 14, 2018 with certain bail conditions. The matter still remains adjourned until next year for further investigations," Gounden said.
