Kessie Nair denied bail following K-word rant

Kessie Nair, the ex-convict who is facing criminal charges for calling the President the K-word, has been denied bail.
Nair posted a lengthy Facebook video in which he repeatedly called President Cyril Ramaphosa the K-word last month.

He was subsequently arrested by the Hawks and charged with contravening the Riotous Assemblies Act and crimen injuria.He appeared in the Verulam Magistrate's Court again today for a ruling on his application for bail, which was opposed by the State.

She also said his lengthy list of previous convictions was evidence of his propensity to offend.

The magistrate expressed concern that Nair does not appear to appreciate the magnitude of the allegations, nor the seriousness of the charges against him. She also said Nair lacks remorse.The case has been adjourned until next week to allow for further investigations.
