The bodies of 18-year-old Enhle Majola and 24-year-old Sthembile Ngobese were found in his home in Botha's Hill, west of Durban in the early hours of Friday.
Sikhakhane wore a grey knitted sweater and jeans and looked straight ahead at the magistrate as he stood in the dock.
Majola and Ngobese's families sat behind, visibly emotional.
There were gasps as the two murder charges were read out.
