Hijacking suspect injured in Durban shoot-out under police guard

A suspected hijacker is in hospital under police guard, after he was shot and wounded in a shoot-out in Durban Central.
According to SAPS - officers acting on information spotted two cars travelling in a convoy in Welbedacht East last night.
The occupants apparently started shooting at the police - who returned fire.
One suspect was hit while his accomplices fled into bushes.

Spokesperson, Thembeka Mbele says police are still searching for them.
"Two police vehicles were damaged during the crossfire and the arrested suspects will be appearing in court soon - facing charges of carjacking, attempted murder and malicious damage to property," Mbele said.
