High Court ruling failed to consider political dynamics: ANCYL
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The ANC says the Pietermaritzburg High Court failed to understand the activities the party was faced with and the constraints at the time of the 2015 provincial elective conference.

The Youth League and the KZN Women's League gave a joint press conference in Durban - following yesterday's judgement.
The court ruled that the 2015 provincial elective conference and its results were unlawful.

The youth league's Kwazi Mshengu says the judgment fails to see the political dynamics the party was faced with.
"The applicants argue that this conference - the eighth conference - should have sat in 2016 and not in 2015. We all know that in 2016 we were going for local government elections. Imagine the chaos of an ANC that is preparing its conference in the year 2016 and still has to campaign and win the local government elections. That would have resulted in an untold political chaos.

"That is why we believe that the court judgement as is - fails to appreciate those political dynamics that the ANC has to grapple with from time to time," he says.
