Heavy police presence in Durban after taxi chaos
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Taxi services in eThekwini are reportedly operating as normal this morning.

Despite this, the Provincial Transport Department says there will be an increased security presence in Durban today.
The department and municipality have established a specialised court to process the release of the remaining impounded vehicles.
This after more than 300 public transport vehicles were impounded at the weekend for issues relating to route permits.
Commuters in and around the city were left stranded for several days this week as the taxi industry stood-down demanding the vehicles be released.
Transport's Kwanele Ncalane says the department is dealing with the situation.
''The MEC has engaged with the leadership of the police and eThekwini Metro to ensure that we are ready for any kind of eventualities - therefore we are very clear as the provincial government.
''We are ready to deal with any situation and anybody who violates the law will be dealt with accordingly,'' he said.
