Gungubele was asked during a post-cabinet briefing on Thursday about when South Africans can expect president Cyril Ramaphosa to announce the reshuffle.

"You know the common answer. You know that the president has acknowledged the need to close the gaps. The president has made the undertaking to appoint the minister of electricity.

"Naturally, once he acknowledged the gap and he makes an undertaking, that job will be done. But the dates and time is for the president."
