"For him to not realise that he is so wrong, he doesn't think about the emotions and the impact that he has done. He has robbed me of my only child and if he doesn't understand that, I don't understand why is he doing this."

Blessing Sikhakhane was arrested in October after the bodies of 18-year-old Enhle Majola and 24-year-old Sthembile Ngobese were found in his Botha's Hill home.

He had previously abandoned his bid for bail.

He was back in the Pinetown Magistrates Court on Wednesday saying he now wants to be released.

His bail application will be heard in January.

The mother of one of the younger victims spoke to Newswatch outside court.

"We are in distress. Our house has never been the same since she is gone. Everything is just a mess. We are just living day-to-day. The minute we try to make peace with it, that's when the court case starts again.

"So there is no moving on here. I don't understand why he wants bail. Does he not understand that he has done something wrong?"
