Former KZN police boss Mmamonnye Ngobeni granted bail

Former KwaZulu-Natal police boss, Mmamonnye Ngobeni has been granted bail of R20 000.

She's appeared in court in Durban on Monday alongside senior police officer, Ashwin Narainpershad on charges of fraud, corruption and defeating the ends of justice.
He's been granted bail of R10 000.
Ngobeni and Narainpershad handed themselves over at the Durban Central Police Station on Monday morning.
They're facing fraud and corruption charges linked to a 2010 FIFA World Cup tender.

Durban businessman, Thoshan Panday and another police officer, Navin Madhoe were arrested on Friday in connection with the decade-long probe.
The tender was meant to provide accommodation to police during the tournament.
It's alleged the KZN SAPS's tender system was manipulated to favour Panday for the contract.
