The pair is facing fraud and corruption charges linked to a 2010 FIFA World Cup tender.

The arrests come days after KZN businessman, Thoshan Panday and top cop, Navin Madhoe were nabbed in the same probe into the tender meant to provide accommodation to police officers during the tournament.

The NPA’s investigative directorate were granted warrants for all fours arrests on Friday but accused three who is the senior police officer in the matter was said to be in Cape Town while accused four who is a former high ranking official could not be located.

Over the weekend, the directorate said that they had agreed for the accused to hand themselves over this morning.

A 52-year-old police officer walked in with his attorney just after 8:30 am.

It’s alleged that the cop was in the Supply Chain Management unit within the police service at the time the tender was issued and assisted in manipulating the processes so that the tender was awarded to Panday.

Accused number four in the matter, who is also a former provincial police commissioner, came into the station in a grey vehicle. On seeing the journalists at the front, her driver sped to the back of the station.

The high ranking official is alleged to have received bribes from Panday to seize or to stop investigations into the awarding of the tender.
