Farm worker killed in Vryheid tractor accident

Emergency services say the 24-year-old man had been riding on the tractor, which had been carrying logs at a local farm this morning.

Craig Botha from KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service says he suffered severe abdominal and chest injuries.

"When paramedics arrived on scene, they found that a passenger from the tractor had fallen off," said Botha.

Botha says the trailer, which had been carrying logs, had gone over the patient.

"Unfortunately the man suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene."

Police attended the scene and will be investigating further.
