The mastermind, who also carried out their murders, was slapped with a double life sentence in the Durban High Court yesterday.

Amahle Maliwa confessed to poisoning and strangling best friends, Njabulo Mankayi and Luyanda Msomi, two years ago.

That was after Njabulo's father ended an extra-marital relationship with her.

Thandaza Mankayi says even though Maliwa apologised yesterday, they have no mercy for her.

Luyanda's father, Thembinkosi Maliti says the family is still very traumatised.

"It has been killing me for too long. My son was a good boy. He told me he wanted to be in the police when he finished school."

Maliwa's co-accused, Liziwe Ngwayisha has pleaded not guilty to the murders.

Her trial continues today.
