He visited the families of the victims of a weekend mass shooting in Mariannhill.
Seven people were killed while sitting in a tuck shop in Savannah Park on Saturday night.
The victims include the shop owner, his son and a man who was waiting at the shop to see a traditional healer, who police believe was the target.

Kaunda says police are working to catch the perpetrators.
"They will be working tirelessly to ensure that these people get arrested. For us as a city and communities, we want to ensure that these people do get granted bail when they appear in court. So we will mobilise communities to ascertain that we reject those bail applications."
He says they are looking at ways to help bring down the crime levels.

"We ensure that we intensify work of crime combating at a ward level, but also looking at the environmental design as a city. We want to ensure that we continue to blacktop on our roads so that we surface them to enable police when they conduct their work they are able to access our communities.
"We are also dealing with the issues of the lighting of our street lights because that also has an impact on crime."
