Eskom KZN working to restore power to northern areas
Updated | By Newswatch
Eskom in KZN says it's working around the clock to restore power in some northern areas.

The areas were left in the dark after substations were vandalised over the past week.
Three substations were intentionally damaged in Newcastle, resulting in power outages in the Khwezi, parts of Madadeni and Osizweni areas.
In Pietermaritzburg, a substation was also vandalised in Assagay on Wednesday morning.

KZN Eskom general manager for Agnes Mlambo says the ongoing criminal acts pose a threat to the supply of reliable electricity.
She says they have reported the vandalism incidents to the police and urge residents to come forward with information.
