Elderly man shot during Westville home invasion

An elderly man is receiving treatment in hospital following a violent home invasion in Westville North.
Emergency services say the man, thought to be in his 70s, sustained two gun shot wounds to his lower body.

Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says medics responded to Protea Place at about 2am.
Jamieson says advanced life support paramedics stabilised the man before taking him to hospital.
The events leading up to the shooting are still unknown at this stage.
