Durban bus fares to increase next month
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
If you use Durban Transport's bus service, be prepared to pay more for rides from next month.
From the first week of August, bus fares will go up by eight percent.
"We use 1.3-million litres of fuel per month, so if it goes up by R2 - that's R2.6-million straight off the bottom line," he said.
Joubert says a 10 percent increase in salaries is another factor behind the hike.
The fare hike comes on the back of a series of fuel price increases.
