Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Cases of culpable homicide have been opened following a fatal crash on the N3 near Mariannhill Toll Plaza.
A runaway truck ploughed into queuing traffic on Tuesday morning, colliding with several cars and trucks.
The heavy-duty vehicle crushed one of the cars and dragged it for several metres, killing its two occupants.
Three people were injured in the accident.
Police say at this stage, it appears the truck driver lost control.
The collision happened a day after two other accidents involving trucks claimed the lives of three people.
On Monday, a driver lost control of his truck on the N3 in Peacevale.
