The eThekwini Municipality says the costs of the damage to Moses Mabhida Stadium after the violent pitch invasion are expected to run into millions of rands.
Angry supporters stormed the field, assaulted security guards, lit fires inside the stadium and damaged TV camera equipment.
Kaizer Chiefs had just lost to Free State Stars in the Nedbank Cup semi-final.
Durban Mayor, Zandile Gumede briefed the media this morning on their plans to repair the iconic stadium.
"The total estimate right now is at 2.6-million. We have a long list of damaged items or properties which includes the pitch, our goal posts, crowd management barriers, bins, water points, dinner plates, glasses, chairs, tables and many more others," she said.
