Protest action erupts outside Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Violent scenes erupted at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in
Durban earlier, where the first semi-final in the Nedbank Cup was played between
Kaizer Chiefs and Free State Stars.

Emergency services say Umgeni Road is closed to traffic in
the vicinity of the stadium.
Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen is urging motorists to
avoid the area.
Chaos erupted with spectators storming the pitch shortly
after Free State Stars won the match 2-0.
An armoured police vehicle had to enter the stadium to try
and restore calm.
Videos taken by spectators and shared on social media show
several fires that were lit inside the stadium.
