PSL promises thorough probe into Moses Mabhida violence
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
The Premier Soccer League is extremely concerned by the violence that broke out at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
Chairperson, Irvin Khoza who's been addressing reporters in Johannesburg says action is being taken to address the pitch invasion.
Several security guards were injured when fans invaded the pitch following Amakhosi's 2-0 loss to Free State Stars on Saturday.
Video footage shows one of the security guards being beaten with chairs and kicked in the head as they lay on the ground. Some fires were also started in the stands and TV camera equipment damaged.
"The person that was kicked was Mr. Sabela Maziba. He sustained head injuries and was treated in hospital and discharged. For the record, at this point no one is deceased," Khoza said.

Khoza says the league will foot the bill for the treatment of the injured.
"All the people that were injured were discharged. Sometimes, being discharged means that there may be consequences after two or three days. You could go back for a scan and they'll say something is wrong. That sponsor has made an indication that they are prepared to incur the expenses. We will wait for the report this afternoon," he said.
Kaizer Chiefs Football Club says it'll support any investigation carried out into the violence.
