The opposition party has briefed the media on its list of priorities for Kaunda's first 100 days in office.

"We want to see that investigative reports in the municipality are actually being tracked and acted on. Currently there are about 600 reports that are lying around and no one has done anything about them," said the DA's caucus leader, Nicole Graham.

She also said too many people still do not have access to basic services.

"Water and sanitation is a huge problem at the moment, electricity is an ongoing issue, as well as DSW, which have all left the City in a very bad condition."

Gumede is facing corruption-related charges.

She is out on R50,000 bail and is due back in court early next year.
