Court orders psychiatric evaluation for #KessierNair
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The Verulam Magistrate's Court has ruled the Durban man who racially abused the president will undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

Kessie Nair called President Cyril Ramaphosa the K-word in a video.
The court has ordered that Nair be sent for a 28-day evaluation as an in-patient at the Fort Napier Hospital.
The State had previously suggested Nair might only get a bed at the hospital in April next year - as the facility is fully booked.

Following the ruling - State prosecutor, Carlson Govender said they would try speed up the process to have Nair admitted and assessed.
Nair's attorney, Chris Gounden has requested that his bail application go ahead in the meantime - saying he cannot be expected to remain in custody until he is admitted to Fort Napier.
