Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The Verulam Magistrate's Court has heard that the Durban man who called President Cyril Ramaphosa the K-word is a danger to himself and his family.
Kessie Nair's bail hearing is currently under way.
Earlier, the court ordered that he be set for a mental assessment.
In an affidavit read by Nair's attorney, Nair has told the court that his health has deteriorated since being in custody and due to a massive heart attack he says he suffered.

He claims to be on a list for a heart transplant.
Nair says it's of no benefit to the state for him to remain in custody while he awaits his admission into Fort Napier Hospital for a mental assessment.
The prosecution says the charges against Nair are serious and that he is likely to evade trial.
In an affidavit, the investigating officer says he believes that Nair will be a danger to himself as his mental assessment has not yet been conducted.
The officer believes Nair will also put his family at risk and turn communities against each other.
