Body of missing Sharks Board worker found at Richards Bay beach

The body of a man found at Newark beach in Richards Bay on the north coast at the weekend has been identified as missing KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board worker, Siyabonga Gabela.
He had been servicing shark safety gear with four other workers when their boat capsized earlier this month.

Two of his colleagues were rescued and taken to hospital, while two others drowned. Their bodies were recovered on the same day.
A frantic search for gabela was conducted in the days and weeks after the incident.
The sharks board's Harry Mbambo says a memorial service will be held in Richards Bay this week.
"Family members are confident that the body is his. As such, we are continuing with the memorial service this coming Thursday in Richards Bay," said Mbambo.
Gabela will be laid to rest this weekend.
"We will take care of the burial. We have already made contact with his family," he said.

Thursday's memorial service takes place at the KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board Base Station in Davidson Lane in Alkanstrand.The service is expected to get underway at 11am.
