Bid for bail abandoned in Clairwood kidnapping, murders

The three people accused of murdering two Durban schoolboys have abandoned their bid for bail.
Amahle Maliwa, Liziwe Ngwayishe and Ali Yusuf made another brief appearance in the Durban Magistrate's Court today.
Dozens of Clairwood residents came out in support of the families of Njabulo Mankhayi and Luyanda Msomi.

The boys were last seen boarding a bus on their way home from school earlier this month.

Today is exactly one week since Njabulo's body was found in a canal near the Durban harbour.
Luyanda's body was found in a bushy area in Montclair, south of Durban a few days earlier.

The case has been postponed until the 26th of January for further investigations.

Prosecutors made it known that they would continue to oppose bail.
