Another heatwave on the way

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has warned South Africans to brace for extremely hot weather conditions over the weekend.

Forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela says the heatwave will blanket Gauteng from Saturday before spreading to other parts of the interior.
"Warm to hot conditions are still expected country-wide with heat conditions expected to be in Gauteng from the second of December all the way to the 5th of December (Tuesday)."
This comes after the SAWS confirmed that South Africa had experienced a record-breaking heatwave earlier in November.
Thobela said more than 10 stations recorded the highest temperature records on Monday, with the Augrabies Falls in the Northern Cape surpassing its previous record at 46.7°C.
Although its highest maximum temperature remains at 48.6°C from January 2016 -the report includes detailed records of the highest maximum temperatures across various stations for the month of November.
Thobela says the latest heatwave is expected to last until Tuesday.
