AfriForum: Mastermind behind Senzo Meyiwa's murder still on the run

Lobby group, AfriForum believes the mastermind of Senzo Meyiwa's murder is still on the run.

Five suspects, arrested in KZN and Gauteng, in connection with the 2014 attack on the former Bafana Bafana captain - are due to line up in the Boksburg Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Durban-born Meyiwa was gunned down at the home of his then-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo in Vosloorus.
His family reached out to AfriForum last year to help move his case forward.
Speaking at a media briefing on Monday, Advocate Gerrie Nel said police documents show that the 27-year-old soccer star was killed, deliberately and not during a robbery, as had been suggested in earlier reports.

"The one outstanding aspects here is to address the mastermind because if there is a hit, there is a mastermind. We are confident and we agree - having gone through the evidence - that this is a hit and we have also indicated out full cooperation in exposing the mastermind and ensuring that the mastermind is also prosecuted."
Police believe they've arrested the person who pulled the trigger. Minister Bheki Cele visited the Meyiwa family in uMlazi last night.
"Some of the people - either already arrested or are still going to be arrested - will tell us what really happened on that particular day. The investigations are not confirmed that is was a robbery went wrong, but we believe the death of Senzo might have been bigger than we have understood.
Meyiwa's loved ones say they always suspected his killers were people with money and influence.
Family spokesperson, Siyabonga Meyiwa says they always believed there's more to this story than meets the eye.
