18 suspects killed in Limpopo shootout

Eighteen suspects have been killed in a shootout with police officers in the province of Limpopo.
There were scant details of the incident in Makhado on Friday afternoon.

But the SAPS said National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola and Head of the Hawks, Godfrey Lebeya, were on their way to the scene.
"The National Commissioner of the SAPS, General Fannie Masemola, the National Head of the HAWKS, Lt Gen Lebeya and the Deputy National Commissioner of policing are on their way to a crime scene in Makhado, Limpopo where 18 suspects were shot and killed during a shootout with police," said spokesperson Athlenda Mathe.
