Man arrested for stabbing spree in Bonela

A man has been arrested in connection with multiple stabbings in Bonela in central Durban.
According to reports, five people were injured on the corner of Westmeath and Candella roads on Friday morning when the knifeman attacked them, allegedly at random.
Chairperson of the Bonela Community Policing Forum Preggie Govender says he rushed to the scene after receiving frantic calls from concerned residents.

"I think two or three of them are seriously injured. By the time I reached there, they were all taken away from King Edward. Now I spoke to somebody who was taken to King George as well.
"The community managed to get hold of him [suspect], some members of the CPF and others managed to restrain him, and they called the police, and the police took him away."
Cato Manor SAPS is investigating.
