Tyla receives Power of Young Hollywood honour
The Power of Young Hollywood event honours standout talent and rising stars.
South African singer Tyla is set to be honoured at Variety's 2025 Power of Young Hollywood party.
'Stranger Things' actor Finn Wolfhard and 'The White Lotus' star Sam Nivola are also recipients.
"The entertainment industry will come together to honour promising young actors, musicians and content creators at the invite-only event in celebration of the annual Variety Power of Young Hollywood Issue," Variety said.
The magazine praised Tyla's achievements, which include winning a Grammy Award and becoming the 'highest-charting African female soloist on the Billboard Hot 100'.
Her 2023 hit single, 'Water', peaked at No.7 on America's songs chart. The song has over one billion streams on Spotify.
Her debut album, 'TYLA', was a major hit, with 12 songs landing on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Chart.

News of Tyla's latest honour, her big win at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in June. She was named 'Favourite Global Music Superstar'.
"This has been so fun. I'm so happy I came to party with you guys. This was the best party ever," the 23-year-old said.

- 'Best Afrobeats', 2024 MTV VMAs
Variety's Power of Young Hollywood party will be held on Thursday, August 7. Comedian Alec Flynn will host the event.
