Shashi Naidoo reveals why she moved back to South Africa

"Coming back has truly been the best decision I’ve ever made."

Shahsi Naidoo is back in South Africa after living abroad, and she couldn't be happier.

"After three incredible years in Dubai, I made the decision to move back home. It was a scary leap, but I’m loving every moment," Naidoo wrote on Instagram.

The entrepreneur has occasionally visited South Africa to help with her business over the years.

"I’ve realised how much my businesses need me, and I didn’t fully understand just how much I’d missed the support of my family and friends," she said.

"Coming back has truly been the best decision I’ve ever made."

Naidoo's followers are thrilled to have the model and TV presenter back in Mzansi.

"So lovely to read this. We have lived in Dubai for 2 years and have made a decision to not (sic) renew our visa and move back home to our Bryanston home too. You’re looking amazing, though, so you’ve made the right decision, no doubt," one woman said.

Another Instagram user commented: "Home will always be where your heart space and love always lives there @shashinaidoo. More stories to be made and dreams actualised here, babes."

Naidoo has shared many posts and videos about her time in Dubai.

Some videos showed her soaking up the sun on Dubai's gorgeous beaches and hanging out with friends at glamorous restaurants.

She clearly had the time of her life in the 'Pearl of the Gulf'.

However, in a post shared on Tuesday, Naidoo hinted that she experienced something traumatic in the city.

"One day, when I have the energy, I will tell you my absolute horror story in Dubai… I am all good now and made peace with what happened! Perhaps my happiness is the real revenge," she said.

One of her friends added further mystery in the comments section.

"Horror doesn’t even begin to describe it. I’m so sorry you had to go through that. Love you @shashinaidoo," the man wrote.

Naidoo's followers speculated that she could have suffered a devastating heartbreak, with some telling her: "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."

"Was there another horror story on top of all your money being stolen? I hope not! Sheesh, girl, you're a warrior," another follower wrote.

Naidoo replied, "This was way worse!"

In October last year, she was the victim of a cyber scam. She lost hundreds of thousands of Rands after her phone was stolen just before an MC gig in SA.

She reported her phone stolen and tried to do a SIM swap the next day. However, she was informed that the process would take anywhere from three to 24 hours.

She was about to board a flight to Dubai when her manager called to tell her she was having trouble paying staff salaries.

"I thought I would just pop into ABSA at the airport. I check in, go into ABSA, get a hold of all my apps, and they have cleaned out my savings account. They cleared out R500,000 on the credit card, and I had an access bond, so they withdrew all of the money from my bond, put that into my savings and then spent that," she said.

They also cleaned out her FNB account.

"I recently sold my house so all that money was sitting in my savings. I haven't figured out how they got into my apps without facial recognition and passwords. I don't know."

Phew, what could be worse than that?
