Little Mix star Jesy Nelson gives birth to twins at 31 weeks
The singer suffered early pregnancy complications before giving birth several weeks before her due date.
Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has given birth to identical twin girls preterm.
The 33-year-old singer announced on Instagram that she welcomed her babies at 31 weeks on May 15.
"So… Our beautiful baby girls decided to come at 31 weeks plus 5 days. It all happened so quickly," she wrote.
Despite their early delivery, both mom and babies are doing well.
"We are so blessed that they are here with us, healthy and fighting strong! We’ve never felt more in love," Nelson added.
She included a picture of one of the twins lying on her chest in her hospital room while her partner, Zion Foster, carried the other baby.
The couple has named their twins Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster.
Singer Jessie J was among the scores of people who flooded Nelson's post with messages of congratulations.
"So happy for you both. What a blessing," the 'Price Tag' hitmaker wrote.
TV producer Demi Doyle commented: "The best news! So precious. Congratulations."
Nelson's former Little Mix members, Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, were not spotted in the comments section.
Edwards and Pinnock are also moms.
Pinnock gave birth to twin girls in August 2021. Edwards welcomed her son Axel in the same month and year.

Nelson announced her pregnancy in January with a cute post of her baby bump.
"She’s eating for 3 now," she wrote.
Two months later, she opened up about her pregnancy journey and some of the challenges she faced, especially because her twins are monochorionic, diamniotic (MCDA), which means they share one placenta.
"Unfortunately, there are complications that come with having identical twins... At the moment, I am currently prestage TTTS, which is twin-to-twin transfusion. I am being monitored very closely," she said.
According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome is a rare pregnancy condition.
"TTTS occurs in pregnancies where twins share one placenta (afterbirth) and a network of blood vessels that supply oxygen and nutrients essential for development in the womb".
This can lead to life-threatening complications.
"Sometimes the vessel connections within the placenta are not evenly dispensed and there is an imbalance in the blood exchange between the twins.
"One twin — the donor twin — gives away more blood than it receives in return and runs the risk of malnourishment and organ failure. The recipient twin receives too much blood and is susceptible to overwork of the heart and other cardiac complications," Johns Hopkins Medicine stated on its website.
Nelson revealed in a separate post in March that she had to undergo an emergency procedure to give her babies the "best chance of surviving".
The operation was a success. However, because she has a short cervix, she had to remain in the hospital for longer than expected in case her water broke prematurely.
Foster said they were taking the pregnancy one week at a time.
They came out on the other side of the ordeal with two beautiful baby girls.
