Lady Zamar: 'Why do you guys hate me so much?'

"You guys have no idea how you break a person" - Lady Zamar says she has become an easy target for cyberbullies who keep reminding her about the allegations she made against Sjava.

Lady Zamar is speaking out against her cyberbullies in an emotional message she shared on social media.

The 36-year-old took to Twitter to ask a heartbreaking question: "Why do you guys hate me so much?"

She asked the question after receiving backlash for a tweet she shared about relationships.

"Your job as a man is to make sure she never needs another man again.  Your 'minimum level of unhappiness' is their 'maximum effort in the relationship' for so many men," she wrote in two separate posts

Some Twitter users used her post as an opportunity to remind her about the rape allegations she made against fellow musician Jabulani 'Sjava' Hadebe in 2020.

Sjava denied the allegations and his fans accused the 'This Is Love' singer of falsely accusing him of rape.

He was reportedly dropped by 'Uzalo' as a result of the sexual abuse allegations. The rape case was eventually thrown out of court.

The National Prosecuting Authority NPA) declined to prosecute "because it believed the facts or evidence do not support a successful prosecution”.

Lady Zamar has felt the wrath of social media users ever since.

Lady Zamar returned to Twitter to address all the hate she was getting over her relationship posts.

"How have I become such an easy target for you guys? you guys don’t know me or my full story and you don’t know why I’ve kept quiet for such a long time…you guys have no idea how you break a person. I can’t move on from your assumptions of what happened to me… you’ve made your opinions my truth… what’s the end goal of all this hate and why are you so determined to believe a story that’s not even full or mine?" she asked.

The 'Sharp Shooter' hitmaker added that she can't tell her truth or move on without people attacking her.

"How am I supposed to exist in this space…"

Lady Zamar genuinely seemed to be uncertain about how she could move on without receiving the "most vile and evil tweets" - allegedly from Sjava's fans.

"What do you hope to achieve with it… what action would satisfy you guys coz I  just can’t just live my life, I can’t just tweet and I can’t just voice my opinions about anything, especially relationships. Please help me out here …can I move on or should I keep on apologising for trying my absolute best to move on."

The final part of Lady Zamar's tweet has resulted in fans worrying about her mental health.

"Do you want me to kill myself, do you want me to die, be murdered, go to jail to make you guys happy… do you guys want me to stop making music or publicly cry so you can see how I actually feel about what happened to me? Please tell me," she concluded.

Sadly, many people felt no sympathy for the star.

"Falsely accusing someone of something as horrible as rape is your sin. Until you apologize to the nation, the dark cloud will forever follow you. I myself loved you to bits and I still do but you need to take us into your confidence as a nation, we're very forgiving!!!" one Twitter user told her.

Lady Zamar clapped back: "An apology for what?"

She added that the NPA dropping the case did not mean she was not a victim.

"Where was it proven it was false..insufficient evidence and false aren’t the same thing though," she tweeted.

Despite the hate, some people came to Lady Zamar's defence.

"Sorry about this Zamar. I've come to realize that there are very sad & broken ppl on social media, especially Twitter... & they get off from saying hurtful things to others & eliciting a reaction... Learn to ignore & focus on those who actually support you," one user wrote.

"We can only grow a thicker skin, coz human beings can be vile. And stick to your truth, keep telling your story, fall in love with your work & focus on your true fans," podcaster Penuel The Black Pen wrote.

Another user replied: "Stay strong Queen. Take a break from Twitter and regroup. No need for you to explain yourself to headless fans."
