Fourth wave of Covid-19 expected in November
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Health Minister Joe Phaahla has warned there is a risk the fourth Covid-19 wave will hit while South Africa is still in the grips of the third wave.

Phaahla and a panel of experts have held another briefing on Friday on government's efforts in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and the vaccination rollout.
He said the country's third wave is dragging on for longer than expected.

The fourth wave is expected to emerge in November.
"By the time it comes, it may find us still at the tail end of the third wave, which will mean that our health facilities and especially our health workers would not have had much rest.
"So this is something which is worrying and we urge all South Africans therefore to observe the known protocols."
