Nine months after its release, Miley Cyrus' song, 'Flowers', continues to dominate the charts.

The song has spent a total of 24 weeks at number one on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart. It is now tied with Adele's 2021 hit, 'Easy On Me', for most weeks at #1 by a female artist.

Miley caused a stir when she released the song on January 13, the same day as her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth's birthday

"I can buy myself flowers / Write my name in the sand /Talk to myself for hours / Say things you don't understand/ I can take myself dancing /And I can hold my own hand / Yeah, I can love me better than you can," she sings on the track.

The lyrics resonated with single women all over the world and the song became an instant hit. Miley co-wrote 'Flowers' with Michael Pollack and Gregory 'Aldae' Hein.

The 30-year-old did not confirm or deny if the song was inspired by her ex. She did, however, explain how the song came about.

"I wrote it in a really different way. The chorus was originally: ‘I can buy myself flowers, write my name in the sand, but I can’t love me better than you can.’ It used to be more, like, 1950s. The saddest song. Like: ‘Sure, I can be my own lover, but you’re so much better,’" she told British Vogue

She then decided to make it more upbeat and positive. "The song is a little fake it till you make it. Which I’m a big fan of.”

'Flowers' appears on Miley's 8th studio album, 'Endless Summer Vacation'.

Her latest song, 'Used To Be Young', is also making waves on the music charts. It's currently at #6 on the ECR Top 40 with Danny Guselli

The track, which was released in August, debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was also a top 10 hit in Belgium, Canada, and Ireland.

"I’m celebrating how much love 'Used To Be Young' is receiving from around the world. It’s inspiring to see all of you relating my story to your own lives. That is the best part of making music. Thank you!!!!" Miley wrote on Instagram.
