Lana Del Rey is tuning her guitar and putting on a cowboy hat for her new country album, 'Lasso'.

The singer-songwriter's album is due for release in September and she is revealing what fans can expect from the project.

Speaking to NME, Lana says she is in her playful music era and doesn't care what critics have to say about her success as an artist.

"Maybe three years ago there would have been a sense of vindication... but now it just feels playful. I don’t know why. If you hang in long enough, it just feels easy. There’s no vindication, no nothing – I’m just kind of happy to be here.  It’s easy-going in that way."

MORE FROM EAST COAST RADIO:

'Lasso' is Lana's first country album and she isn't the only musician going in that direction.

Beyoncé debuted her country-inspired album, 'Cowboy Carter', in March. It features country music legends such as Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, and Linda Martell.

Other features on 'Cowboy Carter' include Miley Cyrus and Post Malone, who is also gearing up to release a country album in 2024.

Lana predicted that country music would dominate the industry during her appearance at the 2024 Grammys.

“When I gave Jack Antonoff his award for Best Producer Of The Year, I said, ‘Welcome Nashville to Hollywood and Hollywood, welcome to Nashville because the music business has gone, gone country. And it went silent; 5000 people, dead silent. Then the next week, we had three major artists announce big country albums," she told NME

Lana has not released any new music from her upcoming album, but it is going to be different to anything she has released before.

“I’ve maybe less to say in terms of any self-revealing things like on ‘Tunnel’ or ‘Blue Bannisters’ or ‘Chemtrails Over The Country Club’, and just more melodic. Maybe more American Songbook style?”

The singer's fans are looking forward to seeing what she has up her sleeve.

"Drop this album now Lanita, I can't wait any longer!" one person commented on Instagram.
