The 66th Annual Grammy Awards were a night to remember, especially for several musicians who won the first statuette of their career.

South African singer Tyla won a Grammy for her smash hit, 'Water'. The 22-year-old received a gramophone in the 'Best African Music Performance' category.

Not only is it Tyla's first Grammy Award but she is also the first person to win the category, which made its debut at this year's ceremony.

"No words," Tyla wrote on Instagram after her big win.

Music icon Mariah Carey presented Miley Cyrus with her first Grammy award during Sunday's ceremony. Miley won the 'Best Pop Solo Performance' award for her song, 'Flowers'.

The 'Party in the USA' singer also won 'Record of the Year'.

"This award is amazing, but I really hope that it doesn't change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday. Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular, so please don't think that this is important," she said on stage.
