Updated | By Poelano Malema
Creating a conducive environment for your child to study at home will go a long way in helping them thrive in their academic journey.
Your home is an important place for your child.
It is a place where your child gets to experience protection, comfort, and the love of family.
It is also a place where they come to after school and continue their learning.
Just like at school, your home must be set up in a way that is conducive for the learning to continue.

Have a study room
If your house has enough rooms, set up a study room. Going to the room comes with the understanding that one is entering that space to focus on their studies.
Set up a study space
If your house does not have enough room for you to be able to have a study room, you can create a study space within your child's bedroom or a part of your house. This doesn't have to be a big space, just big enough to allow you to set up the necessary equipment to help your little one study without distraction.
Get the right equipment
After choosing the right space, one of the first things that you need to buy is a study table. Depending on the age of your child, it is advisable to get a child-friendly study table. Some tables will come with a space for placing books, stationery, etc.
If the table does not have drawers, get drawers or shelves where your child can place books that they would need to do their school work.
A comfortable chair is very important. The design and material must be good and comfortable.
A good chair should also offer neck and back support.
Study equipment
In the room, have extra books and stationery.
A laptop or desktop and printer are also great equipment that your child can use to help them thrive.
Remove distractions
Remove anything that might be a distraction. This can include television, toys etc.
