Poll: Should you return gifts after a relationship has ended?

Is it okay for your partner to ask you to return gifts after your relationship has ended? Have your say...
Not all relationships are meant to last forever.
Although people enter into relationships hoping that things will work out, they don't always do.
Unfortunately, sometimes break-ups can get very messy.
Recently, a post went viral on X showing a conversation between controversial forex trader Grootman Selahle and his baby mama, Gcinile Thwala.
In the post shared by popular X user Musa Khawula, it shows a screenshot showing Grootman asking for Gcinile to give back the gifts he bought for her following their breakup.
He starts by saying his baby mamma must listen to him very carefully because he is not going to repeat himself.

He then orders her to return the engagement ring and everything he has bought for her.
"I am ordering you to package everything I've ever bought you with money I hustled/ scammed people to make you look & live better .... from every single clothing, shoes, bags, to my previous engagement ring, iPhone, make up chair I bought from Takealot, and every other thing you know you never bought yourself, and send everything to me," reads the message on the screen.
He demanded that she return everything he had bought for her within four days or she would see a side of him she has never been exposed to before.
Grootman's actions are not unique. Some people have even asked for their dowry/lobola back after a marriage has ended.
X users were divided as to whether it is right for one to ask for their gifts back after a breakup.
