Dive, dash & conquer the Jump City Challenge in Durban!
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Run. Jump. Splash. Repeat! Durban’s wildest night-time adventure is back - are you brave enough for the Jump City Challenge?

Alright thrill-seekers, fun-chasers and adrenaline junkies; this one’s for you.
The legendary Jump City Challenge is splashing back into Durban, and trust us when we say… this isn’t your average weekend jog around the block.
This is South Africa’s premier adventure race, and it’s about to turn uShaka Marine World into an after-dark playground of epic proportions!
What’s the Jump City Challenge anyway?
Think trail running meets obstacle course madness, with a healthy dose of laughs, teamwork and a little friendly competition.
Each course is between 5km and 8km, packed with 20-25 insane challenges.
They’ll have you climbing, crawling, sliding, pulling cars (yes, actual cars) and even wading past a shark tank.
Yes - a 400m stretch of water alongside a shark tank. No pressure.
This isn’t just a race. It’s a good old fashioned, no-holds-barred, sweat-dripping, selfie-taking, obstacle-dodging, memory-making ADVENTURE.
Oh, and it’s all happening at night, because why not crank the excitement up a notch?
For the little daredevils
Do you have mini thrill-seekers in the fam? Well, the Jump City Kiddies Edition is a 2.5km burst of fun designed for ages 6-11.
The little daredevils will be weaving through the iconic aquarium, water slides and rides of uShaka Marine World.
It’s non-timed (because let’s be honest, kids are already racing for snacks) but the first three finishers still score bragging rights and prizes.
Guardians can cheer them on or jump in themselves for the main event straight after.
What kind of obstacles are we talking?
We’re so glad you asked. Here’s a little teaser:
- An 8m long monkey bar (bring those upper body gains)
- Car pulls (yep, an actual vehicle)
- Running, crawling, wading, and vaulting
- A wild water section past a shark tank (it’s safe, we think)
- Epic slides, water rides, and more surprise challenges designed to test your grit.
