Darren Maule hosts moment of silence for radio legend Bob Mabena

Condolences have been pouring in since the passing of radio legend Bob Mabena, who took his last breath on Monday, 10 August 2020.
Colleagues, media personalities, friends, and South Africa as a whole have reacted with shock and disbelief to the death of radio legend, Bob Mabena.
The news of his passing sent shockwaves through social media on Monday afternoon after it was announced that he had died on Monday at the age of 51 from cardiac arrest.
“It is with deep grief and pain that we announce that POWER 98.7 Breakfast Host, Mr Bob Mabena passed away this afternoon, Monday 10 August 2020, from cardiac arrest. The family is coming to terms with his passing and respectfully requests the public to afford them the appropriate space. Further details will be communicated in due course,” reads the statement from Power FM.

Fellow radio veteran, Darren Maule, hosted a moment of silence for the man known as 'Bra Bob' to his peers, 'Uncle Bob' to the younger generation, and 'The Jammer' to those who loved and were introduced to him through music.
Speaking about the legend, Darren said: "Mabena’s career spans more than 30 years in the media industry. He worked at Metro, Highveld, he was at Kaya and many more media houses... a voice of a generation is no more."
