SA imposes new rules over coronavirus

With South Africa on a mission to stop the spread of the coronavirus pandemic - government's released new rules on what we can and can't do.
If you want to get a drink at night - pubs, shebeens or restaurants, with liquor licences are off-limits. Those places have to close at 6pm from Monday to Friday and 1pm on weekends and public holidays.
They can re-open at 9am, and they are not allowed to have more than 50 people on the premises at any given time - that includes staff and patrons.

If you intentionally expose someone to the coronavirus - you could be charged with murder or attempted murder.
If you are caught spreading fake news or misinforming people about the coronavirus - you could be handed a fine, six months in jail or both. The same would apply to those who pretend to have the virus when they don't.
Refusing to be admitted to hospital or self-isolate when diagnosed with COVID-19 is illegal.
Cooperative Governance Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma has addressed the issue of businesses suddenly or dramatically pushing up the prices of goods and services.
Trade and Industry now has the power to issue orders to protect consumers from the excessive, unfair and unjust pricing of items - during the national state of disaster.
She's also given other ministers sweeping powers to take action to combat the spread of the pandemic.

The new regulations for dealing with the pandemic were gazetted last night.
So far, 116 people in South Africa have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
