We're so close to the Big Walk that we can smell the ocean...

With everyone collecting their goody bags and getting their stretches done, we can firmly say that the excitement ahead of the Big Walk is warranted.

But, before the excitement gets the better of you, we wanted you to take some notes on what to remember if you are walking with younger kids and elderly family members.

  1. Make sure you have eaten something before arriving. Pack a snack bag (with more than one snack) for the day.
  2. Ensure that if your elderly family members take any medication, they have taken their meds before coming to the Big Walk.
  3. Carry a change of clothes. Kids get warm, so you may dress them up super warm at the start of the day, and then as they shed, you'll need a place to keep their clothes.
  4. Make sure that your kids and elderly family members have a piece of paper with their emergency contact information and medical aid information on their person.
  5. Agree on meet-up points. If anyone loses the rest of the group, which could happen, agree to meet at a set point to avoid any anxiety.
